They’re postys tattoos so I think she was changing herself to be more like him and he was changing himself to be more like her (getting rid of his)

Toni I feel like the tattoos represented Joe’s problems who he then passes it onto Taylor and she was covering them because she thought she can carry all his problems. Joe or at least Post Malone’s character is seen without having the tattoos implying that he isn’t carrying those burdens anymore or something like that. And he didn’t realize that not until the part where they were experimenting on her mind in the mv to see what was going on inside her head because she was going crazy, he then later realizes that it was his fault why she was like that. “I love you, it’s ruining my life”.
