Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl admitted in a statement he cheated on his wife. He also added that he had fathered a child outside of his marriage.

The musician, 55 – who’s the lead singer of the rock band – made the admission on Instagram. He revealed in the post on Tuesday that he’s hoping to regain the trust of his wife Jordyn Blum, 48, with whom he shares his eldest three kids.

The musician, 55 – who’s the lead singer of the rock band – made the admission on Instagram. He revealed in the post on Tuesday that he’s hoping to regain the trust of his wife Jordyn Blum, 48, with whom he shares his eldest three kids.

The guitarist, who has more than a million followers on the platform, hasn’t allowed comments on the post. His fans however have expressed their surprise on X, formerly known as Twitter, over the former Nirvana drummer’s statement.

Dave has been married to Jordyn, a former model and TV producer, since 2003. The couple are said to have first met two years prior and Grammy Award winner Dave previously told Elle magazine that initially after “a few dates” he decided that he wasn’t “ready for a serious relationship” at the time.

He however shared he then had a “revelation” three months later and called Jordyn back, rekindling their romance. They have since welcomed three kids together, with them parents to daughters Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.

The marriage is Dave’s second, as he was previously married to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood from 1994 until their divorce in 1997, though they had separated the year prior. The Guardian once reported that “admitted infidelities [led] to his divorce” from his first wife Jennifer.

As previously reported, Dave is quoted as having said about his ex-wife back in 1999: “I was 25, my wife was even younger. We weren’t ready to get married. I miss her a tonne, she’s the funniest goddamn weirdo you ever met in your life.” He added: “Absolutely adorable. It would have been better had we not got married. But you live and you learn.
