Swift is a huge fan of Ina Garten, also known as the Barefoot Contessa, and is an especially big fan of one of her recipes.
When Swift is off the stage and at home, she loves to cook one of Garten’s easiest recipes for guests.
In a 2019 interview with Elle, Swift described one of Garten’s pasta dishes as a recipe she’ll “be making at dinner parties for life.”
The dish is called Ina Garten’s Real Meatballs and Spaghetti.
It is a super simple dish, but those who have tried it call it “sensational.”
Swift has her own twist on some parts of the recipe though, especially with the meatballs.
One of the keys to a good meatball is the breadcrumbs, and Garten’s recipe calls for fresh white breadcrumbs.
This requires toasting and slicing fresh bread, and then blending it down into crumbs with a food processor.
Fresh breadcrumbs act as a binder to hold the meatball together.
They also absorb some of the juices in the cooking process as well as hold some extra tomato sauce.
Breadcrumbs are essential to the recipe, but Swift shared that she doesn’t use fresh ones.
Instead, she uses packaged breadcrumbs for her version of the recipe.
Garten’s recipe also calls for three different types of meat inside of the meatballs.
She uses ground pork, beef, and veal.
Swift is super busy with her life as a superstar, so she cuts down on the prep time even more by using just beef in the recipe.
That is okay though, because there are plenty of herbs and spices in the recipe to make up for the flavor.
If a simple recipe is enough for Taylor Swift, it must be delicious.
It also must be filling too, as she has a Super Bowl winner at home that she needs to feed as well.
If you’re lacking a dish to bring to your Thanksgiving, look no further than Swift and Garten’s simple spaghetti and meatballs.
Your family will thank you after a delicious addition to their dinner.
