LSU’s women’s basketball team is celebrating the outstanding performances of two of its players in the latest SEC matchups. Angel Reese has been honored with the title of SEC Player of the Week following the team’s impressive 2-0 record, securing victories against Alabama and Arkansas. In both games, Reese showcased her skills by achieving double-doubles, scoring 20 points and grabbing 16 rebounds against Alabama, and contributing 16 points with an impressive 17 rebounds against Arkansas.

On the other hand, Mikaylah Williams has earned recognition as the SEC’s Co-Freshman of the Week. Williams delivered noteworthy performances with 14 and 21 points in the two matchups, coming close to securing a double-double in the latter game with nine rebounds.

Her consistent excellence has positioned her as one of the top freshmen in the nation, leading to her inclusion in the midseason watch list for the prestigious Ann Meyers Drysdale Award.

Looking ahead, the LSU Tigers are gearing up for another challenging game as they face the undefeated No. 1 South Carolina. The upcoming matchup is set to be a highlight, with ESPN’s College GameDay scheduled to be in attendance.
