Chiefs’ Super Bowl hopes dealt major blow as record-setting Patrick Mahomes receiver is arrested
This offseason, Andy Reid’s Kansas City Chiefs are suddenly dealing with another potential off-the-field issue at the wide receiver position.
Xavier Worthy, who set a rookie record in Super Bowl LIX, has reportedly been arrested outside of Austin, Texas.
“Former Texas star WR and Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy was arrested Friday Night in Williamson County, TX,” Fox 26’s Will Kunkel tweeted.
“Charges: Criminal charge of assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation.”
Last year, it was Rashee Rice making off the field news in the wrong way.

Xavier Worthy, who set a rookie record in Super Bowl LIX, has reportedly been arrested outside of Austin, Texas.

NFL Network reported on Saturday that the NFL is “aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club.”

Worthy, 21, was the No. 28 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.
He set an NFL Combine record in the 40-yard dash and finished his rookie season with 59 catches, 638 yards and six touchdowns.

Worthy was even bigger in the playoffs, catching 19 balls for 287 yards and three TDs.
During the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, Worthy was one of Kansas City’s few bright spots with 157 yards.
