Taylor Swift Trademark Sends internet Into Meltdown
Taylor Swift has officially registered a new section of her live act, sending fans into a frenzy with theories, including one that the singer might be planning a Broadway musical.
Swift, 34, restarted her record-breaking Eras world tour in Paris last week, and introduced a new set list to include songs from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD), released in April.
News of the trademark made the term “female rage” trend on X, formerly Twitter, and many fans wondered what she had planned. Some speculated Swift might turn her attention to Broadway.
But others pointed out it was not uncommon for celebrities, including Swift, to trademark much of their output.
“She trademarks everything so I don’t think we’re getting a musical. I think that won’t come until her late career,” @lanitarosay posted, to which @TS19_89 replied: “Exactly it’s a filing for intent to use. So basically it’s set in place for when and if she ever chooses to, but it prevents anyone else from profiting from it in the meantime!”
